NHS Eye Examinations

The most important part of our service is your Eye Examination.  NHS Eye Examinations are provided FREE of charge in Scotland by the NHS.  Regular Eye Examinations are recommended and should be performed annually or every two years, depending on your Optometrist recommendation.  Eye examinations are important not only to assess the health of your eye, but also your overall health.

Our Optometrist will assess every aspect of your Eye health and will take time to explain any findings.  Our comprehensive Eye Examination will use the latest technology to assess all aspects of your Eyes and Vision.

An Eye Exam at i2i Optometrists does more than just check what you can see or your prescription.   It can detect early signs of Eye conditions such as Glaucoma, Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Dry Eyes, Diabetic Retinopathy and Cataracts.  As well as underlying health conditions such as Diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

In the past year, i2i Optometrists have invested heavily in cutting edge technology, which includes a Zeiss OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography), Zeiss Humphrey Visual Field Analyser and an iCare Tonometer.  An OCT produces a 3D image of the Retina and Optic Nerve, which allows our Optometrist to look beneath the surface of your Retina.  This service is provided free of charge at i2i Optometrists.
